Behind every great song there are rests or silences or breaks which can add suspense, surprise, shock, focus, or any other emotion to a song.
But in my song Se Yo Se, I know I know, the silences are the hooks!
What is silence really?
Debussy wrote that the music is not in the notes, but in the spaces between them.
Miles Davis said, “It’s not the notes you play; it’s the notes you don’t play.”
In Se Yo Se/ I know I know, the silences are very loud and eloquent.
